I kinda of go in between and change the oil every 2-3 rides depending how tough/fast they are which is 5-8 hours for me. And I change the oil filter every other oil change. However, I pretty much only ride mountain single track The 250L has an oil capacity of 1.8L, meanwhile the 450L, a bike with 200ccs more, has about 1.4L of oil capacity. So with a much higher output engine, that will be ridden hard, and will generate more heat, and has even less oil capacity, the oil change intervals need to be shorter as the available oil is broken down much quicker.
