I’ve tried all of the keyboard reset prompts (NVRAM and SMC). I’ve unscrewed the back panel, unplugged and replugged the battery connector, pulled out and reinserted the SSD I just upgraded form an early 2015 13" MBP to a 2020 13" 2020 MacBook Pro (i5 10th generation 512GB/16GB ram), and am getting 2-3 hours of battery life. The performance is actually worse than my 2015 model. Apple support told me that Chrome is the cause.
The 2023 is (to state the bleeding obvious) better in every single way, but for an eight year old machine the 2015 MacBook stands up pretty well.
